Fitting prostheses for the whole dental arch
If we have lost or are going to lose all the teeth on a whole jaw, 5 to 6 implants are needed in order to fit a fixed prosthesis that goes from the first molar to the first molar (12 teeth).
If we want to go from a second molar to a second molar, 7 to 8 are needed.
There are articles on prosthesis across the whole jaw with 4 implanted roots, but except in small jaws and very elderly people, we consider that it is better to fit at least 6 if the jawbone permits this.
