This is when false teeth are held in place by a damaged tooth or by neighbouring teeth.
For this there need to be a minimum number of teeth near the teeth that are to be fitted.
When there are no teeth left (molars) at the back of the mouth or when too many teeth in a row are missing, a fixed dental prosthesis cannot be fitted over teeth.
At Cambraclinic we have introduced a system of digital scanning and milling of teeth, known as CEREC AC
The remaining teeth have to be healthy, as do the gums and the bone. The volume of the teeth is reduced to make the crowns which go over them and hold the false teeth in place.
They can be made out of just porcelain; porcelain with a metal core; zirconium or resin.
This type of prosthesis is comfortable, cosmetically attractive, long-lasting and easy to clean.
